Ballet dancers performing on stage, holding hands, dressed in colorful leotards and tights, with a dark background.

Yuiko Masukawa is award-winning Japanese choreographer working at the intersection of classical ballet and contemporary dance.

Masukawa’s base is classical ballet and yet her real asset is versatility. She’s presented a lot of work recently – and in very different contexts – and yet she always suggests the same high level of craft and intelligence. Andrew Fuhrmann, The Age
